Knee Repair

Remember that post about the end of the summer?  There was a picture of Mike with his leg propped up, and I said that "he hurt his knee pretty bad."

Well, we didn't know the half of it.  After many doctor appointments, X-Rays, and an MRI it turned out that he tore his ACL, his medial meniscus  and his lateral meniscus as well as fracturing his tibia - YOWSA!  Due to our crazy schedules including a week-long work conference that I could not get out of, the surgery was scheduled a bit further out than we would have liked....

Mike was a brave guy, as always - all smiles as he went into surgery.  It was a VERY LONG procedure, nearly 5 hours in the OR.  He did great, and the surgeon was able to work magic on his various tears, telling us that it couldn't have gone any better.

The recovery has gone very well and he started PT in November. Hopefully no more accidents for this guy for awhile :)
