Almost 4

For the last three months when people ask you how old you are, you say "three and three quarters." But soon, you'll say four. I often want to freeze moments in time so I don't forget how you are right this second.

You are a vivacious little ball of energy, talking nonstop, and learning so so so fast. You come home from preschool filled to the brim with new ideas and words and thoughts. You recall every detail and bring things up from months ago that I have no idea how you remember. You are FULL of love for us, and Will, and your friends, giving loads of kisses, hugs, and snuggles.

You are officially a little guy who can do most things by yourself. You get yourself dressed, and pull out your cereal and milk in the morning. You decide which games we'll play and what pictures you'll color. You sign your name on your artwork and tape it up on the walls. You ride your bike and your scooter and run everywhere you go. You never talk quietly.
You are growing and changing so fast and we know we'll blink and you'll be 5. We are so lucky to have the noise, chaos, whirlwind, smiles, laughter, and love that is Finn.

Butterfly Day

Mike and I took advantage of me being off on MLK day and took the boys to the Butterfly Pavilion, which has a bunch of awesome bugs and butterflies - a boys delight!

First, Finn got to hold Rosie the Tarantula. He was very excited to have him crawl on his hand.

Then, there was this random room with lobsters and jellyfish and starfish - Mike called it "butterflies of the ocean", but I have no idea what that means :)

Then, the main event: the Butterfly Sanctuary! Finn was so excited that he got to hold several butterflies.

Handing the butterfly off to Daddy.

A very fun day :)

Hello 2011!

Happy 1/1/11 to everyone! I think this is going to be a great year for our family. Mike is excited to find a new job and we are all excited to have him home in the evenings and on the weekends. We are loving watching these wonderful boys of ours grow older and become little buddies. We hope to take another great vacation this year with the boys, and maybe one with just the two of us to celebrate our 10 year (!!) wedding anniversary.

Mike and I rung in the New Year with lots of love and loads of happiness. We hope this is a great year for all of you!
