Birthday Buddies

Finn has had a very busy social schedule the last couple of weeks, as all his friends turn 3.  It's been so fun watching these kiddos grow up.

Happy birthday Finn!!

Holy moly, our little man is 3!  We are so proud of our sweet, sweet boy.  We had a great day at home with his friends on the Saturday before his birthday and then a fun night at Red Robin on his birthday.  He loved all the singing, treats and presents.  Among his favorite gifts were his accordion, harmonica, doctor kit and play-dough set.

Will watched his big brother open presents and play with his buddies

A Dub Update

Usually I just post about the boys but I thought I would give an update on the whole family today.

As many of you know, I was laid off 2 weeks after I had Will.  This came as a huge surprise - not only because I was on maternity leave, but because I felt that I was such a valuable member of the team.  I got down to business and started applying for jobs right away.  Well, 80 applications and 5 job interviews later, I start my new job on Monday!  I am now the Marketing Communications Manager at a great company in Boulder called E Source. I know this all happened for a reason and I'm ready to rock out this new job!

Although it was a very stressful time, I'll always be grateful for the 14 weeks home with the boys.  I will miss them so much when I go back to work.

In other news, Mike and I have been doing the Couch to 5K program together.  It has been going great, and it's been really fun exercising together.  Someone also gave us their old treadmill, so we'll have no excuses on those snowy days!

Finn and Will are just amazing.  Now that Finn realizes he can make Will smile and coo, he has started paying more attention to him.  He continues to be very sweet with him, and always very gentle.  We are going to do everything we can to foster a good relationship between them, but it's off to a great start.

Will is 3 months!

As always with kids, time flies.  I really can't believe it's already been 3 months since Will was born....I seriously feel like we brought him home from the hospital last week.  He has been just incredible - smiling, smiling, smiling.

He has become pretty predictable - happy boy unless he's hungry or sleepy.  He has been drooling a ton and always trying to stuff his entire hand into his mouth.  I know it's far too early for teething, but he sure is acting like he is!

He is finally starting to take a bottle a little bit, but I think that all the mama-time he's had the last few months has definitely made him prefer me in more ways than one.  I'm glad we are starting daycare next week so he can start to get used to different people.  He is really aware of everything going on around him, which is so much fun.  When we put him down, he watches us walk around the room or studies his hands.  He is starting to reach out for things and learning how to grab.

This is mine, you can't have it!

Sleeping has been totally all over the place.  Some nights, he'll wake up just once during the night around 3 and some nights he'll wake up every hour and half, which leaves me feeling like quite a zombie in the morning.  I really don't know what the difference is between the nights when he sleeps like a champ and the nights when he wakes up constantly.  Need to figure this out!

Hanging out with his homeboy, Abe.

He is such a sweet little boy - it's going to be so much fun seeing what he looks like as he gets older and what his personality is like.  It seems like most people say that their personalities from the beginning are pretty much the same as they get older.  If that's the case, we've really lucked out with two happy sweet boys!
