Ready for Christmas

Finn was all ready for Santa to come, leaving cookies and milk for him and 9 carrots for the reindeer. We told him that Santa wouldn't come if he got out of bed and we didn't hear a peep from him all night. I think we may tell him that Santa is coming every night :)

The Cookie Making King

Finn has been VERY busy in the kitchen this holiday season!

First, he helped Gammy and Poppa decorate a gingerbread house.

I'm pretty sure he ate his weight in gumdrops that evening

Then, he helped his Auntie J and Mimi and I decorate cookies

It was easy to tell which were his - mountains and mountains of sprinkles

He gave these sugar cookies some extra special Finn-style treatment with lots of sprinkles and a gumdrop in the middle of each one.

Lucky for us, he doesn't just do baked goods, he also cooks fabulous macaroni.
My sweet little helper!

Family pictures

We had a great photographer, Glen Delman, come to the house to take pictures of us last week. Finn turned unusually shy and uncooperative the moment he started taking pictures and Will cried almost continuously - but Glen was very patient with us and we got some really sweet shots.

My absolute favorite shot of them all:

And I just had to share this one:

It's potty time!

Alternate titles:
- Finn is going to hate me for posting this...
- Serious blackmail material
- I'm going to show these at Finn's high school graduation party

It's potty training central at the Dub house. Using a method suggested by our friends, we skipped pull ups and put him straight in underwear - or "undies" as we call them. We had lots of accidents the first couple of days, but now he's doing great. We've even left the house 3 times now with NO accidents. WOOHOO! He's still wearing a diaper to bed, but we are really happy with the progress so far.

And I just *cannot* help myself, he looks too freakin cute running around in his undies. I know you'll hate me for posting this, kiddo, but......

We're so proud of you, big guy!

One month old!

The time at home is flying by, just like I expected that it would. Will is growing so fast, already a month old. He is beginning to stay awake longer during the day and nap for slightly longer periods of time. We have started trying to put him to bed around 7pm every night so we can have some one on one time with Finn. It's been going really well so far, and it's nice to start to have a routine beginning. I can't seem to remember anything about when Finn was a baby (thank goodness for being able to look back at the archives of the blog!) but the books tell me that scheduled napping starts around 4 months. At night, he sleeps around 4 hours for the first stretch and then wakes up every 2-3 hours until about 7am after that.

So far, I think he looks a lot different than Finn, although most people think they look very similar. His head is a little rounder and his features are slightly smaller - although I think they'll have identical beautiful blue eyes.

His temperament is a little more fussy than Finn - and he needs to be bounced almost constantly. Although...I may take that over the constant spitting up that we had with Finn.

We are loving every moment with this little man. It's so fun to see him grow and I'm excited to start to see his little personality start to come out.
