Angel/Devil

It's been a busy week for us, as we are getting ready to take a week off from work for a trip to California. Finn is very excited to see the ocean and play in the sand.
We haven't taken many pictures this week, but Mike did manage to catch Finn showing his multiple personalities - he looks like an innocent little angel in this picture and a mischievous devil in the second. So cute!

Just a couple of tidbits as to what is going on with the little man - Finn now has 4 teeth, with a 5th on the bottom trying to poke through. He is SO close to crawling - he's got the leg action down, but can't seem to combine it with the hands, so it results in a lot of face plants.

We should have some fun pictures to share when we get back from San Diego next week.

7 Months Old!

Forgive us for being one day late on the post -
we've been in all weekend with the stomach flu :( No fun!!

Finn is 7 months old and it is good times! Today, Finn took his first crawl - only one little knee and hand forward, but it was exciting. Although, I'm not sure why we are so excited for him to be mobile! I think we have some childproofing challenges ahead of us.

Finn has moved on to some exciting foods like squash, peas, banana, sweet potatoes and green beans. He loves to help with the spoon and the dog likes to lick the messy fingers.

In other Finn news, he is learning to feed himself a bottle, getting much more strong on his feet and learning to balance, sitting up in a highchair and in the grocery cart, and reaching for EVERYTHING! He somehow knows all the things he isn't supposed to play with. If we lay all his best most colorful toys out next to our cell phones or the remote control, he grabs the phone or remote every time. How do they innately know those things?

Finn is also starting to babble like crazy. He teases mom by saying "mmmmmba-ba-ba". He ramps up with his mmm sound but then does a b noise.

Overall, we just can't get over how much happiness this little boy brings us!

Baby Loves Disco

This morning we did some baby massage and took advantage of the morning light for some more great photos.

Yesterday we had his 6 month old check up and he is doing great. He is now 17 lbs 1 ounce (still the 50th percentile) and 28 inches long (75th percentile). However, his shots made it harder for him to enjoy Baby Loves Disco, a fun danceclub for kids and parents that we went to today. It was a fun time at the Boulder Theatre, but unfortunately the liveliest image I can show you is the poster, because he was feeling a little sleepy and clingy.
I think Daddy enjoyed all the extra cuddles.
Totally passed out

Hiking with the babes

We met up with some friends this weekend for a hike and lunch at Chautauqua. The weather was gorgeous and we had a great time.

Yaga and I, keeping the babies safe from the hot sun
Scott and Julie with Averie, Yaga with Carl,
and Mike and I with Finn
Beautiful Colorado
Gia and Averie were very interested in heads and Finn was wondering why Mom didn't put his pants back on after the diaper change
The boys were chillin, but Averie was a little mad!
Are we cool, Daddy?

Yeah, we are!

Labor Day fun

We had a fun and busy labor day weekend with the boy. We visited the playground across the street from our house for a little swing and slide fun and also went to a fair in Boulder with some friends.

Here he is showing off how strong those legs are -
he may just skip crawling and go right to walking

Fun new things

Finn is doing so many new things over the last couple of weeks. It is incredible to watch him learn something new and then quickly perfect it. The picture above shows his new bottom teeth, which are coming in very fast!

Here are some of the new adventures we are having...

He is getting better and better with solids. Apparently the spoon airplane game is not just for show, this trick ACTUALLY works to get him to open his mouth. I just thought it was an silly thing all parents did - who knew!? :)
He has learned to sit on his own and also blow raspberry's. All his baby friends have been blowing raspberry's for awhile, but the mechanics have eluded him. But now that he's figured it out, he likes to show it off a lot.
With those teeth coming in, he is quite the drool king and also wants anything and everything in his mouth

He and his daddy are best buddies
Such a cutie...
