Baby's First Christmas

A fun Christmas was had by all today - Finn got lots of fun toys and clothes from us and grandma and grandpa Swafford - we are going to have Christmas with the Wootton's on Saturday. He didn't quite know what to make of all the boxes, and he mostly just wanted to play with the ribbons and bows.

His favorite new toys - he loves balls!

Wow, Mom and Dad, a cell phone! Just what I need!

10 Months Old!

Wow, our son has hit the double digits! 10 months old, how did that happen? Finn is a truly incredibly little boy, and we couldn't be happier. He is doing so many new things, it's hard to keep up! First and foremost, he is always on the go - he crawls super fast, pulls up on anything (furniture, walls, us, the dog, etc), climbs the stairs like a pro, babbles like crazy (especially loves to say Dada, Mama, and hi - although we are crediting his first word as Dada because the other day he actually pointed at Mike and said 'Dada!'....how can you argue with that???), waves hi and bye, points to things, is a madman in his walker and just SUCH a happy happy boy. He is always giving us smiles and giggles and making life generally pretty incredible. Using a few helpful tips from his pediatrician, he has been sleeping through the night without a peep for about 3 weeks now - goes to bed around 7 and wakes up between 6-7 (and sometimes 5:45, much to mommy's delight!). Although he definitely prefers mommy and daddy, he has very little stranger anxiety and seems to have a blast during his 2 days a week of daycare. His teeth eruption seems to be slowing down a little bit and we are holding steady at 8 - 4 on top and 4 on the bottom. He is a great eater, 3 big meals of day with oatmeal and fruits or veggies along with lots of milk. He also likes to snack on cheerios, rice chex, biter biscuits, zwieback toast and graham crackers. He continues to love to read and picks the books he wants you to read to him - and gets pretty annoyed if you don't oblige! He has all of a sudden completely abandoned all use of the pacifier, which is fine by us!

Things he is learning - we just started a little sign language last week. Words like eat, more, water, and milk are what we are focusing on. He is learning to drink from a sippy cup, roll a ball back and forth to us and learning what 'no' means - like, "No, Finn, you can't take a bath in the doggy's water dish!"...right now, he just looks at us with his head cocked when we say 'no', but you can tell he knows it means something!

This is the look he gives when we tell him 'no'
What, me? I'm a perfect angel!

Santa Baby

Daddy took Finn to see Santa yesterday and he told him everything he is hoping to get for Christmas. I think Santa was overcome with how adorable Finn was and promised him everything!

Exploring his world

Okay, seriously - does it get any cuter than this??? He is one happy kiddo!!

This look he's giving daddy is saying - "You've got to be joking? You want me to touch that pointy cold thing?"

"Well, okay......"

He met the cutest baby in the mirror the other day...

Giving himself a big kiss!

Finn is pulling up on everything these days. He likes to bang on the glass and watch Hunter while he runs around in the snow.

Weekend in Nashville

This weekend we flew to Nashville to visit grandpa! We had such a fun three days (and missed the Colorado snow storm!) We played very hard, smiled and giggled all weekend long.

This is the first picture we've caught Finn's upper teeth on camera! More teeth are on the way and he loved gnawing on this spoon
Dancin' fool

He is so proud of himself when he pulls up

Hanging out with the girls, Powder and Buffy.

The first time in a big bathtub!

At the ripe old age of 15, Sean is Finn's uncle!

We played pinball all weekend long!

What a fun time!

Sharing

Finn has discovered that he can share - his food, pacifier, and toys. Such a generous little guy!
Trying to figure out that pesky sippy cup

We went over to Carl's house for some playtime on his fun cube. While the babies don't play together yet, they do seem to enjoy being around each other.

Here's a great picture of Finn's love affair with ceiling fans. He could stare at them all day!
